Blaise Pascal, Penseé 347: “Man is but a reed, the most feeble thing in nature; but he is a thinking reed. The entire universe need not arm itself to crush him. A vapor, a drop of water suffices to kill him. But, if the universe were to crush him, man would still be more noble than that which killed him, because he knows that he dies and the advantage which the universe has over him; the universe knows nothing of this. All our dignity consists, then, in thought. By it we must elevate ourselves, and not by space and time which we cannot fill. Let us endeavor, then, to think well; this is the principle of morality.”

Republican and Democratic Party Websites / Economic Data Sites

The official Romney / Ryan Website: Mitt

The official Obama / Biden Website: Barack

I think these sites are the second best places to start in thinking about this election. The first best place, actually, is Wikipedia and other places, like the Congressional Budget Office, that can give you raw data about debt, employment figures, etc. Wikipedia at least gives you a sense of the dimensions of an issue.

The Congressional Budget Office

Bureau of Economic Analysis (U. S. Dept. of Commerce)

Bureau of Labor Statistics

Economic Research, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis

This isn't an endorsement, but it's a source that interests me:

Tax Policy Center
